Plan and theory for painting 1 (room for edit)

Painting 1

I need to work out how to make the painting feel positive to work with the narrative.
Not all the paintings need to show positive, some of the paintings can show aspects of uncertainty, and to show a sense of familiarity through the environment the figure is placed.

I could show uncertainty through colour, expression on the face, composition, objects.

In this first painting I want to show the figure as showing an outside identity. I want the portrait of the figure in the painting to have a serious and firm expression which will mainly come from the eyes as I feel this can sometimes be a behavior in the everyday world we use in order to survive.

This painting will be pre hotel environment and portray the everyday environment.

I want to show how in the rise of social media it is common for us to record our movement for others to see, in result of this we can sacrifice our privacy to keep up with the times. It becomes a way of life to share our movements. We are also influenced by others sharing their daily lives with us, why can be drawn in by somebody's online identity mistaking it for normal.

I am thinking of an object which could represent the recording of movement to include in 'painting 1'

Micromedical Technology monocular eye movement recording apparatus (Visual Eyes)

I thought the eye on the tv screen in the image above was interesting, It's a piece of equipment used to record the movement of the eyes. This could link with us recording what we see daily through social media platforms.

This could link with the theory of the eye of providence. religiously known as a christian symbol, it represents the eye of god watching over humanity.

I could do a grid of televisions with eyes on for the background of the painting to show the idea that we are all watching each other.
